Postane

Postane is a space for social impact and ecological restoration, located in the renovated British Post Office in Galata, Istanbul. Postane serves and collaborates with agencies that aim to build a more just neighborhood, city, region, and planet. Their work includes offering spatial, technical, and financial resources, and collaborating with civil society organizations, activists, social enterprises, artists, and creatives. Run by a social enterprise based on a solidarity economy, Postane features a social procurement cafe, a podcast studio and a multipurpose hall. It also hosts a rooftop permaculture garden. Evren Yıldırım is one of the people that take care of this garden, she also works with the social initiative İyiEkim, promoting permaculture, seed saving and urban cultivation.
