Spore Initiative

BERLIN, GERMANY

Spore Initiative presents cultural projects at the intersection of climate justice, ecological regeneration and education by facilitating dialogue with earth protectors in the Global South and the Global North. The Spore House– a physical space located in Berlin– exists as a platform for exchange, discourse, and mutual learning. At the core of the initiative is the weaving of conversations and the nurturing of common ground among people who are geographically or culturally distant but linked through practices of care for Earth. The Spore Garden at the Spore House is designed to support diverse communities, both human and non-human, by fostering practices that care for soil life, promoting biodiversity, and preserving traditional knowledge. The garden focuses on utilizing companion planting, creating pollinator-friendly spaces, composting, encouraging seed sharing, and adapting through sustainable gardening methods. Throughout the gardening season, Spore hosts regular meetings, workshops and collaborative events where participants can embody these practices and learn from global partners.
