The Seed Protectors of Wolves Lane is a hub for knowledge, research, education and action towards building seed sovereignty in North London. They seek to revive and celebrate ancient practices of seed saving for the tangible benefit of their local communities, global family and Pachamama Mother Earth. Based at the Wolves Lane Centre in Haringey, the project focuses on sustainable growing practices in urban spaces, education, and social enterprise. The Seed Protectors aim to transform their center into an inclusive space that supports local food production, promotes healthy lifestyles and engages community members through various educational and social activities. The site is maintained by a mix of consortium members, volunteers and local groups such as Black Rootz– the first multigenerational, Black-led growing project in the UK. Wolves Lane Centre is a key stakeholder in promoting a healthier, sustainable food culture in North London by working to make good food accessible to all.
