White Ball Mustard

CALEPINA IRREGULARIS

White ball mustard is native to the Mediterranean region but it has spread and adapted to various environments in Europe, North Africa, Western Asia and North America. White ball mustard has low water needs, in fact the plant grows with the water coming from the rains and has a growing cycle that coincides with the first rains of autumn and ends in early summer. The plant is rich in vitamins and minerals, contributing to its nutritional value. It can be used to add flavor and nutrition to various dishes. The leaves can be used in salads or cooked dishes, similar to other mustard greens. The young seed pods are sometimes used as a vegetable or in pickling.
